Born in Rothbury, David was raised on the family farm near Morpeth, Northumberland. An honours graduate in Agricultural and Food Marketing from the University of Newcastle, David remains true to his North East roots.

His career in retail began with the North East Co-op food group where he worked his way up from graduate trainee to Fresh Foods Sales Manager, gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Business Administration along the way.

David fulfilled his ambition to own a deli in 2002. Passionate about food and 'deli culture', David opened Deli at Darras where he is Owner Manager supported by a friendly and professional team.

We aim to provide an eclectic mix of regional, British and international fine foods and beverages that are of premium quality in both taste and design, displayed in a contemporary setting. Attention to detail and customer service are paramount.

Passions

One of David’s passions is sampling the world’s finest delis and inspiration for many of the products stocked at Darras comes from some of the world’s finest food stores such as Dean and Delucas, New York; Harvey Nicholls Food Hall, London and Fauchons, Paris.
